Dave Imre Partner & CEO
Dave founded imre 27 years ago, after stints on the client side and a mid-sized ad agency in Baltimore. From the outset, imre’s focus has been on providing creative ideas, flawless execution and excellent client service.
What began in Dave’s basement as marketing and public relations consultancy for Baltimore-based clients has grown to a national agency, specializing in social, digital, creative, public relations and paid media, and serving Fortune 500 companies such as John Deere, STIHL, NFL, Under Armour, AstraZeneca and GlaxoSmithKline. imre now has more than 160 employees working across its four offices located in Baltimore, New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.
The company is committed to an inclusive culture, encouraging different perspectives, empathy and respect, which has been a driver of the agency’s success. The culture and the team members it attracts have been key to serving long-term clients and retaining employees.
As a senior counselor, Dave’s role is to liaise with clients and mentor other leaders within the agency. In his spare time, Dave volunteers with the Maryland SPCA, travels and enjoys spending time with his husband, Tom, and their two very spoiled dogs.
Mark Eber Partner & President
As one of the two owners of the firm, Mark oversees all of the day-to-day operations across imre’s four offices in Baltimore, New York City, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, which includes more than 160 employees. In his 25+ years of experience, he’s led integrated marketing communications programs for brands such as Baltimore Orioles, Dickies, Milwaukee Power Tools, NFL, Ryobi, STIHL, Travelers and Toyota and steered imre’s growth to $32M in fee income in 2019.
A former Division I college baseball player, Mark understands the commitment and dedication it takes to build and maintain winning teams. Mark lives in Baltimore with his wife and four daughters – all Baltimore Ravens fans. Mark serves on the President’s Parents Council at Queens University of Charlotte and also volunteers his time at Bridges and St. Paul’s School for Girls. In his down time, you can find him on the sidelines watching his daughters play lacrosse and field hockey or working to lower his 6.8 golf index.
Crystalyn Stuart Partner & President, Creators
Crystalyn leads our agency’s dynamic Creators practice—an 80-person, completely silo-less orchestration of experts in digital, creative, social, public relations, user-experience, analytics and media strategy. She drives R&D for emerging services and solutions in both Healthcare and Consumer brands. Since she started her career, her mission has been to transform the way brands come to market, evolving traditional marketing practices into the gray spaces of efficiency and efficacy.
Crystalyn founded our NYC office in 2012 and has been counseling clients across the imre portfolio since 2008. Her passion is building marketing ecosystems, nurturing talent and driving forward a meaningful culture of relentless innovation at imre.
She can often be spotted traveling or skiing with her husband and 5 children, or popping champs in the office to celebrate one of our “amazing imre” moments.
Jeff Smokler Partner & President, imre Health
Jeff founded and leads imre Health, the life sciences and biotech arm of imre, with clients including AMAG Pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca, GSK, Pfizer and others. Jeff is responsible for the vision, strategic direction, revenue growth and business development of the agency’s healthcare business. Under his leadership, imre Health has blossomed into a life sciences marketing powerhouse with a full team of dedicated account, creative, strategy and medical professionals who together, are responsible for some of the most compelling and lauded work in pharma marketing. Imre Health was recognized in 2019 as MM&M’s Small Healthcare Agency of the Year.
Jeff, who also leads the newly-opened Philadelphia office of imre, enjoys spending time with his three kids and his golden retriever, and working with so many smart and wonderful colleagues and friends.
Breanna Buhr VP, Consumer
Breanna has more than 15 years of experience in the transportation industry at the intersection of automotive and consumer lifestyle. Her background in public relations combined with imre’s expansive digital marketing capabilities allows her to lead integrated programs that move the needle for her clients. Breanna is also General Manager of imre’s LA office, responsible for driving the imre culture and west coast philanthropy.
She is most likely to be found on a 5AM run blasting 90’s pop music in her airpods.
Brian Simmons SVP, Marketing & New Business
Brian is the catalyst for driving growth across imre’s consumer practice. He also leads marketing efforts communicating how the agency makes believers of consumers through the stories they create.
Throughout his career he’s seen first hand how some of the world’s largest management consultancies and marketing agencies approach solving client business challenges. By cherry-picking a few best practices, mixed with imre’s entrepreneurial spirit, Brian has helped imre become one of the fastest growing independent agencies in the US propelled by a mix of new business wins and creative and cultural accolades.
Brian is most recognized on the streets of New York City as the guy who always has Sour Patch Kids in his hand.
Cara Peckens VP, UX & I
By applying artistry and engineering to strategic insight, Cara architects impactful systems, products, and services that create significant and seamless user experiences across the breadth of the customer journey.
As a creative technologist who is also a tech skeptic, her tactical strategies focus on reshaping the customer experience to maximize functional value, amplify resonate moments and create brand loyalty. Her work includes strategy, interaction design and development across multiple channels, including web, mobile, AR, touch, IOT, in-store and physical environments.
In her free time, you can find Cara either hiking in the woods with her partner and pup or playing a myriad of video games.
Jennifer Beck VP, Strategy & Insights
Jen leads the discovery, understanding and application of consumer insights to set the strategic direction to guide our teams, and inspire ideas and solutions that will make brand believers to affect meaningful business impact. Under her oversight, the strategy & insights team brings the voice of the consumer to life within the context of each client’s business objectives, both as we set the roadmap, but also throughout the planning and execution process to ensure all work consistently embodies the strategy set forth.
Jen has 15 years of experience helping brands uncover insights and develop creative and activation strategies to drive their businesses forward. Her experience spans a breadth of categories and industries including retail, consumer packaged goods, education, financial services, automotive, healthcare, building products, construction equipment, trade associations and more, working with brands including Toyota, Under Armour, Bausch & Lomb, INFINITI, Dickies, Stihl, GSK and John Deere, to name a few.
In her free time, you can find Jen getting in miles as she trains for her latest race, or checking off her bucket list of National Parks and respective mountain summits to hike.
Jessie McDonald VP, Healthcare
Jessie leads interdisciplinary teams that develop fully integrated, patient-driven marketing programs for several of imre Health’s pharmaceutical clients, including Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca.
Previously, Jessie designed and executed award-winning communications campaigns for a wide range of healthcare organizations, including trade associations, pharmaceutical companies, non-profit organizations, medical societies and federal government agencies. Her work in health communications and marketing has received numerous accolades including PRWeek’s “Healthcare Campaign of the Year,” PRSA-NCC Thoth Awards for “Global Communications,” “Events & Observances” and PR Daily’s “Best Press Event/Media Tour.”
Jessie is a graduate of Duke University and a lifelong Cameron Crazie.
Josh Simon VP, Creators
Josh is responsible for pushing and redefining how health clients leverage social and digital media. He thrives on creating active social communities and finding creative solutions to navigate regulated industries. Josh comes from health-focused roles on the client side, where he drove successful social programs while setting internal social standards. Josh can be found in the Philadelphia office, which opened in February 2020.
Josh and his wife have two young sons that keep them busy. When not at gym class or soccer practice, you can find Josh attempting a new creation in the kitchen.
Jurgen Castro VP, Creators
Jurgen leads the Creators Activation team for imre Consumer. They are responsible for identifying and executing the solutions that remove barriers between consumers and brand belief.
He has worked across various industries, including financial services, outdoor power equipment, pharma and sports. His experience and background in social media marketing has taught him to relentlessly pursue new frontiers, always seek out new technologies, and that creativity, innovation and efficiency don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
Jurgen has lived in 2 countries, 4 states, 8 cities, speaks 2 languages decently and one just well enough to get native speakers to politely ask him to stop.
Lindsay Hughes SVP, Integration
As the SVP, Integration, Lindsay helps to ensure we deliver on the promise of fully integrated thinking and execution in services of our imre Health book of business. In this role, Lindsay works to horizontally connect the various groups working alongside one another in support of our client partners, while also modernizing the processes and models that drive how we work.
Before serving in this role, Lindsay led Account teams on a number of enterprise clients.
Outside of work, Lindsay is a mom to three little girls, Caroline (3), Natalie (2) and Emily (9 months).
Lindsay McGettigan SVP, Creators
Lindsay leads imre Health’s approach to ecosystem design and activation planning through an emphasis on translating empathy insights into actionable patient, caregiver and healthcare provider solutions. With experience ranging from architecting brand launch campaigns to building digital loyalty through community, Lindsay strives to deliver a seamless experience at every stage of the journey. With an eye toward fueling constant iteration and client business growth, Lindsay also drives imre Health’s analytics, reporting and measurement methodology to consider how patients act and how they feel.
Outside of the office, Lindsay can be found spending time with her husband and two young children, exploring Baltimore’s foodie scene and watching anything and everything Bravo.
Kirsty Whelan SVP, Strategy & Insights
Kirsty joined imre in 2010, developing strategies for some of the world’s most loved brands such as Target, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oreal and Nestle. After leading our social marketing practice, she transitioned to develop a brand strategy capability in healthcare, helping architect imre Health’s approach to empathy. She created strategies that enabled pharma companies such as AstraZeneca, GSK, Pfizer and Bristol Myers Squibb to interact with patients authentically in social media for the first time, applying a digital marketing mindset, which allowed brands to measure the return on investment.
Today, she leads our enterprise-wide strategy and insights team, developing planning methods for healthcare and consumer brands that transcend marketing. She is influenced by behavioral psychology and design thinking, which has led her to partner with Columbia University, New York University and Jefferson University to design solutions that improve customer experiences, as opposed to creating marketing noise.
A recent honoree of MM&M’s Hall of Femme, Kirsty loves being a mom to her son, Jack, and in her spare time, traveling with friends and trying to see every film ever nominated for an Academy Award.
Mary Ann Wilson Chief Financial Officer
Mary Ann is a seasoned financial and operational executive. She has a proven track record in strategic problem solving, process improvement and implementation. She is constantly looking for new ways to look at the business in order to provide key indicators for management.
Mary Ann is best known for her calming office with sunset pictures and a lemongrass diffuser.
Matt Saler VP, Consumer
Matt leads all day-to-day operations for the Sports Marketing & Active Lifestyle clients at imre. Over the past decade at the agency, he has overseen several major accounts and spearheaded a variety of new business initiatives for the agency, leading cross-functional teams and executing several global integrated campaigns.
Under Matt’s leadership, his team has successfully led an array of unique, traction-gaining and award-winning activations with some of the biggest athletes and largest sporting events in the world, including: Olympics, Tour de France, MLB All-Star Game, Super Bowl, NFL Draft, PGA TOUR’s Travelers Championship, MLS Playoffs, Boston Marathon, NYC Marathon, World Cup of Hockey, NASCAR races and championship boxing fights.
Matt resides in Baltimore with his wife and two children.
Mike O’Mara Chief Operating Officer
Michael is responsible for places, processes, pricing and platforms for our agency. Having come to imre from the brand side and worked with our integrated teams with clients across a wide variety of industries, he is keenly aware of the working dynamic between agency and brand. To that end he is focused on, and committed to, creating the most seamless possible working experiences for our clients and employees.
A proud father of two teens he can regularly be seen preaching to his kids the importance of being nice to people you meet throughout the course of a day, even the ones you don’t know.
Nick Eber SVP, Consumer
A marketing renegade, Nick has no preconceived notions about solutions, an insatiable appetite for knowledge and brings a no-nonsense approach to business. This has led to his own personal growth, as well as the growth of the agency.
As a leader at imre, he’s responsible for making believers, including staff, client partners and consumers. He’s a harbinger of change, integrator and protagonist.
You can find Nick on the golf course on the weekends… and when he takes a vacation.
Patrick 'Sully' Sullivan SVP, Creative
Patrick ‘Sully’ Sullivan is an internationally award-winning Creative Director and writer who helms the copy discipline within our Creators group. With over two decades of experience in the creative industry, Sully has led integrated global brand work for the likes of Marriott International, Pepsi, MarsWrigley, Grey Goose, Ford Motor Company, MillerCoors, Shriners Hospitals, Europcar, Nestle and more. He’s also appeared as a panelist at New York’s Advertising Week and is a passionate student of the cultural zeitgeist. Sully believes brands should choose their words wisely and that empathetic storytelling is the secret sauce for transforming people into true brand believers.
A native of Baltimore, Sully is a ski bum at heart, loves being a new Dad and is always up for seeing live music.
Robert Marbury VP, Creative
Robert is responsible for championing the creative spirit that connects imre between offices and across Consumer and Healthcare. He works with the conviction that collaboration and wild ideas not only foster better work, but also drive market results and brand intrigue.
Robert was a child actor, sailed the Savu Sea, and authored the ultimate guide to Rogue Taxidermy art.
Ryan Jordan Executive Creative Director
Throughout Ryan’s tenure at imre, he’s developed several industry and agency firsts. He co-created a creative leadership model specific for social media, prototyped one of the industry's first creative studio models for digital marketing and helped to architect a social and digital native healthcare practice through the sheer force of his creative vision, imre Health. His contributions have had a transformative impact on imre Health’s expansion of services, sophistication of its capabilities and growth in revenue.
His day-to-day role includes leading and mentoring an integrated team of 40 artists, conceptual thinkers, writers, influencers, directors and strategists with dedicated healthcare and consumer expertise across four offices and two creative studios. Over his career, he has created platforms and designed campaigns that have transformed some of the biggest and best global brands including Pfizer, Under Armour, AstraZeneca, Bausch + Lomb, Johnson & Johnson, STIHL, Target, NFL and more.
When Ryan’s not inspiring the next generation of creatives, he’s nurturing the youngest generation of imaginative dreamers as the devoted dad to Quinn and Penny, all for his ever growing audience on Instagram (@creativejordan).
Sarah Dembert VP, Healthcare
Sarah is a Vice President at imre Health, where she oversees the entire portfolio of AstraZeneca work—including products in the respiratory, diabetes, CVMD and oncology therapeutic categories. Sarah has been the shepherd of double-digit growth in the business over the last four years, leading a cross-functional team of account, creative, strategy and activation professionals to deliver industry-first, cutting edge patient and healthcare professional programs that have been recognized for excellence across the industry.
A recent winner of PR Week’s Top Women in Healthcare award, between tennis matches and Orangetheory workouts, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, two young sons and her rescue pup, Mango.
Shanee Cohen EVP, Consumer
Shanee is responsible for driving the vision, approach and performance of imre’s consumer business. She was drawn to imre for the deep sense of purpose and independence that is embedded in the agency’s DNA. A seasoned marketing strategist, Shanee has helped some of the world’s best-loved brands authentically connect with consumers to drive positive business outcomes. More than anything, she loves to create powerful programs and push her clients and teams out of their comfort zones.
Having lived in Hong Kong, New Zealand, France and Israel, Shanee brings a truly global and open-minded perspective to her work. She is also a dual citizen of the U.S. and U.K.
Stephanie Friess SVP, Public Relations
Stephanie is a passionate PR professional who believes in the power of earning attention for brands and organizations. As the leader of the PR Creators team at the agency, she is focused on creating editorial stories that make believers, drive empathy and create true connections for brands with their tribes.
Throughout her career, Stephanie has strived to find innovative and strategic earned-led solutions for clients, delivering barrier busting results for top consumer and health brands globally. She brings this energy to imre and works with the teams to find new solutions for many of our clients.
Stephanie is a native New Yorker who enjoys experiencing all the city has to offer.
Tom Pompei SVP, Creators
Tom leads imre’s consumer activation team, setting the overall vision for the creators consumer practice in addition to managing and driving digital ecosystem contributions across the consumer portfolio. An experienced brand and social marketer, he has brought to life campaigns that have shaped and defined some of the world’s largest companies. He’s passionate about generating big ideas that sit at the sweet spot between creative and strategy, which generate energy and conversation for brands.
Tom is an avid sports fan, and when not in the office you can find him on the field, in the stadium or at home spending time with his wife and son.
