General Summary:

Under the general supervision of the CFO, responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operations.  Oversees financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgets, American Express charges, employee time, tax file, payroll, and special projects as needed.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties: 

  1. Plans and directs financial statement preparation and reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, profit and loss reports and cash flow statements. Completes a portion of the monthly narrative document.
  2. Reviews billing reports and billing. Must be able to use client systems (i.e. Ariba, Tungsten, AMP)
  3. Reviews the entire accounts payable process for the organization. This includes reviewing invoice coding, vendor set up, and compilation of W9’s. Assists staff with compilation of 1099’s, and reviews yearly AP audit.  Conducts semi-monthly check run. 
  4. Assists with the annual budget for the agency. Assists team with year-end reporting and analysis. 
  5. Assists with American Express cards for the organization. Helps with the process of job costing, receipts, SUT and per diems.
  6. Assists with time entry monitoring, scheduling and reporting.
  7. Assists with training new employees on our systems and reports.
  8. Coordinates the annual tax file process.
  9. Manage processes and look for process improvements. Ensure the team is doing the same.
  10. Coordinates fixed asset listing in BNA and imports fixed assets twice yearly. Works with tax accountants on year end reporting of fixed assets.
  11. May be responsible for supervising 1-2 staff. Responsible for hiring, training, and retaining competent staff.
  12. Must have a working knowledge of Advantage software and understand how to manage a general ledger system. Must be able to write reports.
  13. Compile and complete payroll and corresponding reconciliations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 7-9 years of experience in the field.
  2. CPA or MBA a plus.
  3. Exceptional Excel spreadsheet skills.
  4. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  5. Must be organized and able to multi-task.
  6. Team player with a positive attitude and confidence.
  7. Must be able to lead a team effectively.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to CFO

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment, where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or smoke.
